During the last year of his life, Hartford recorded several songs for the soundtrack to the 2000 Coen Brothers film O Brother Where Art Thou?, which picked up a Grammy for Album of the Year. In addition to his musical talents, Hartford was loved for his witty banter and his detailed knowledge of Mississippi River history and folklore.Three-day passes and single day tickets for the John Hartford Memorial Festival are still on sale via the event’s website.
