BLUE HILL — The George Stevens Academy girls’ tennis team fell to top-ranked Mattanawcook Academy 5-0 in Wednesday’s Class C North final.No. 2 GSA (12-3) got a strong doubles effort from Chloe Politte and Libby Weed and a resilient singles performance from Lindsay Nevin. Politte and Weed fell 6-1, 4-6, 6-0 against Mattanawcook’s Sydney Jones and Delaney Kneeland, and Nevin lost 7-6 (5), 6-4 against Natalie Tilton.Mattanawcook finished a perfect season at 16-0 Saturday with a 3-2 win over Class C South No. 2 seed Maranacook (14-2). In the boys’ title match, Mattanawcook (15-1) lost to Southern Maine No. 1 seed Waynflete (16-0).
