first_imgGlenswilly 5KA meeting will be held in the clubhouse on Monday night next, May 18th to make preparations for this year’s 5k.The race takes place on June 23rd and a number of issues will be discussed as preparations get underway for the event. All are invited to attend as a number of volunteers are needed for various aspects of the night.Donegal ticketsAnyone who has applied for tickets for the upcoming Ulster Championship game between Donegal and Tyrone should attend the clubhouse this Thursday night (May 14th) when the tickets will be distributed at 9pm.Seniors The seniors had no luck in the league last weekend when they went down away to Kilcar on a scoreline of 0-10 to 1-5.Under 14 blitzThe Glenfin team who won the Under 14 blitz at the club last weekend.The club host the inaugural Under 14 blitz which was sponsored by Michael Murphy Sports and Leisure on Saturday last.A total of four clubs took part including Glenswilly, St Eunans, Letterkenny Gaels and Glenfin.Glenswilly won the B competition with Mark Mulholland lifting the cup for the host club. Glenswilly and Glenfin contested the final and it was Glenfin, inspired midfield powerhouse and captain Adam Marley who lifted the cup.The cup was presented to Adam by Glenswilly chairman Peter McConnell who paid tribute to a what was a real sporting occasion with some fine football displayed by all four clubs.A special note of thanks goes to the ladies who, led by Maria Carberry, provided refreshments on the day.A great first event which sets the marker for many years to come. The Glenswilly U14 team who were runners-up in the U14 blitz last weekend.U12s beaten by MilfordThe U12 boys had their first run-out of the season last Wednesday at home to Milford.A very well-organised Milford side came out on top but it was a great occasion for the sides who both field two teams each.Training continues for the U12s on both Mondays and Fridays.Texts will be sent to players to confirm times.BingoBingo continues in the hall every Wednesday night starting at 9pm. The night continues to be a great occasion and anyone who can lend a hand for a couple of hours is asked to contact Paul Lapsley.UNDER 8 BLITZThe Under 8 boys and girls have a blitz at home this Saturday in Glenswilly. Please be there for 9.30am.
