The quarterback had a historic performance throughout the season, setting the record for most total yards in national championship game history, with 478 yards against Alabama, the nation’s top defense. He threw for over 4,000 yards and rushed for another thousand yards on the ground as a true sophomore; Watson remains the only player to ever  accomplish this in the history of college football.In 2015 Watson was named a finalist for the Heisman Trophy, the first time a Clemson player has been invited to the Heisman Trophy Presentation. He then won the Davey O’Brien Award, which is awarded annually to the best college quarterback, as well as the 2015 ACC Player of the Year and the ACC Offensive Player of the Year awards.last_img
